Forest River - Defective door lock deadbolt
Purchased new 2015 Forest River R-Pod 179 model on September 11, 2014. Dealer locked door for traveling.
At first stop attempted to enter door, but key could not go into slot. Called dealer, they suggested locksmith. Called locksmith at my expense evidently, locksmith able to open but lock assembly was found in parts broken. Not able to secure door.
We had traveled more than three hundred miles from original dealer and those we contacted near us stated four to six weeks before they could get us in to see what needed repaired, then order part, and then schedule repair service. What are we suppose to do with rpod that door cannot be secured. Advice, avoid Forest River because there customer service really doesn't exist.
Only person loosing is the customer! They have their money.
Reason of review: Damaged or defective.
Monetary Loss: $500.
Preferred solution: Send me direct express mail all parts to door handle/locks/keys and reimburse me for locksmith of $150 and three nights lodging at $119 per night for not being able to stay in rv. Also for having to board up rv to protect from weather..
Location: Illinois, United States
