Leak from exterior cargo door / floor dry rot
We upgraded from a Keystone Cougar RV now own a Piece of *** Forest River Wildcat
We purchased a $50,000+Wildcat Forest River 2013.
The day we drove it off the lot the problems started-Blinds fell off, TV fell off the rising stand, water leakage from under kitchen sink 2 times, hot/cold knobs reversed bathroom, dead bolt lock didn't match the keys, under carriage material cut for water leak but then only duct taped, windows leaked on the inside, sliding mirror doors-bedroom would not ride/stay in plastic clips-snapped off, Light above dining table fell off 2 times and put big chip in wood table.
The biggest thing is the fiberglass chips on the over hang driver side which has many scraps like from what was used to move the RV around on the lot. The dealer Canopy Country Yakima Washington put our hitch in or truck and had the RV hooked to the truck when we picked up and the minute we got home I found we called and now March2014 it is our fault/problem-Our RV spent 4 months in the shop.
Constantly calling dealer and Forest River -My husband is so mad-We owned a Keystone 2008 no problems ever!!!
our bad Oh ya now when we brought home the front panel on refrig fell off on the floor
How long do i have to wait ??
Heritage Glen
I will never purchase another Forest River product. The workmanship is bad, bad, bad.
Forest River does not fix things that are broke or from poor workmanship. It is up to the consumer to prove it was poor workmanship. We needed repairs done to our new Heritage Glen and Forest River denied 4 of the 8 claims. Our dealership had our RV for 3 months, not because of them but Forest River held them up.Our dealership fixed the problems themselves.
I would not recommend Forest River or any of their R.V.'s. Their customer service is terrible.
Once you purchase their products you are on your own. They will tell you anything to sell a product.
Bad Roof Sealant at the Factory Caused leak...Manufacturer would not Pay
I bought a 2012 Flagstaff from Handy RV's in North Wilkesboro, NC. It was obvious that the unit had been on the lot for a while, since we didn't purchase it until February of 2013.
After a week at home, we discovered the side table under a rear window was coming apart. Water was coming in somewhere, but we didn't know...thought it was a bad seal on the window. Took the unit 2 hours away to Tom Johnson in Concord...they took the window out and resealed it and said it was fixed. We brought the unit home and after the first major rain, I found water on the side table under the same rear window.
Took the unit back (2 hours each way) to Tom Johnson. They took the window out again and reasealed it AGAIN. Then, they decided to take a look at the roof and amazingily, they found the problem...about an inch area in the roofing seam that was not properly covered at the factory by the sealant. A clear and undeniable screw up at the factory became my fault when the folks at Flagstaff were contacted.
Tom Johnson wanted close to 6,000 dollars for the roof...no thanks...I'll take my chances locally...but one thing is for sure.
Forest River should have manned up and corrected their mistake...but they choose not to. This will be my first and last Flagstaff.
Leaking Roof, misaligned windows that will not shut in back bunk area.
I bought a 2001 Flagstaff front dining room travel trailer. I used it on weekends in the summer in Western New York.
The hot water tank NEVER worked, I took it to the dealer, and they told me it was clogged with bugs, or spider webs. The cleaned the gas pipeline for the hot water tank compartment, it still would not allow the gas through the line. The window in the back bunkhouse on the drivers side of the trailer from the 1st day would not lock in place. It would be shut before driving to local campgrounds and at time of arrival would be open and approx.
1-1/2 inches open and be unlatched. We tried to close the window with two people pulling inward and one outside pushing in, and still could not make the window lock in place. The smoke alarm was place in the roof, in the middle of the area between the kitchen and the back bedroom area, however, the bathroom door could not be opened as the smoke alarm was in the way of the bathroom door. The microwave did not work correctly and would short out the electric service.
We took the trailer back to the dealer, to look at these complaints but they were not able to fix all of them. The dealer moved the smoke alarm out of the bathroom door path. I was staying in the trailer for a year in 2006 through 2007 and the roof began to leak over the front dining area, and down the side of the kitchen area. Within two months we had leaks around the bathroom sun-roof, the TV antenna, the air conditioner, and the back side of the bunk house.
Now the floor is ruined because of the water running out of the cracks, even when they were repaired in 2006, when they first started. The walls by the kitchen closet is warped, the closet by the bathroom is warped and the bathroom door will not shut due to the swelling caused by the leaks. It was a shock to me to understand that the roof was not made of fiberglass like the sides of the trailer was, and it was a canvas type material. I am angry that the roof material was never discussed, and that on the roof, where the purchaser could not see, was made of such inferior materials.
If the roof had been guaranteed for 12 years, but not the seals???? What sense does that make? My trailer was made in 2001, but the trailers made much later, and as late as
2011, are still having issues with the roof? Why, it seems Forest River has had several years to rectify the problems with the manufacturing.
I would like to begin a class action suit, for anyone who has problems with the roof, after purchasing a Forest River Travel Trailer, or 5th Wheel. If interested in joining us please contact aprilluvspring@***.com

Worst purchase EVER
Forest River Shasta RV sold me a lemon
In March of 2011 I Purchased a 2011 BRAND NEW Forest River Shasta 26QBTB pull behind trailer. After more than one year of dealer and manufacturer attempts to resolve a slide leak, and more than 30 other issues including a sinking floor tub, defective hot water heater, and permanent water damage they have not resolved my issues and will not refund my money or even provide me compensation, an equal replacement, or anything other, I am warning others about Forest River.
Shasta requested ONE final attempt for repair as a result of the demand letter I sent them two months ago. However, they did not effectively repair the RV and sent it back to me with partical board exposed to the elements on the outer wall of the slide, a (still) leaking slide, water stains/damage where the water leaked into the main flooring from the leak, and a drill hole in the sunlight, among other things. The repair process of their original manufacturing defects (despite their "industry accepted tests that are proven effective") are still ineffective despite best attempts and displayed patience for repairs. I "explicitly detailed my expectations" in writing as requested by Shasta to diagnose a recurring issue that could not previously be identified through "Shasta's industry best practices" while the RV was at their manufacturing plants. Their ONE final attempt was a concerted effort in failure.
The original dealer stated that our RV was "the first unit off the production line" and "no wonder why you are having so many issues". The dealer attempted to contact Shasta more than 3 times about the slide leak (among the laundry list of other repairs). Shasta has denied effective solutions to the customer and the dealer and wasted a lot of people's time, money, energy, and undue stress. Shasta has used up it's "one last attempt" at fixing EVERYTHING that is wrong with my RV.
They can have the title and RV as I want nothing to do with their defective product. Nor would I consider trading it in or selling it privately due to the irreperable defects. My values will not allow me knowingly to pass on these problems to someone else or I would have done that from the beginning despite the financial impact. I would have been able to recouperate 75-80% of my losses that way, which would have been acceptable at the time.
My next step is contacting local media outlets, provide online feedback on blogs, websites, and anywhere else I can WARN and PROTECT a potential buyer.
This has gone on far too long. I have been very agreeable on proposed repairs by Shasta and its representitive(s). I have been as patient possible with Shasta considering the significant issues I have had with their defective product. I am not a "problem customer." I was sold a problem product. This RV is a lemon. I paid cash for a defective unit and they will not/have not repaired manufacturing defects. Further, I have provided Shasta one too many chances to correct the defects of the brand new RV and as a result I have lost more than 50 days of my RV being in the shop, and countless time trying to correct this situation.
I will certainly remain vocal to friends, neighbors, strangers, and anyone else I can warn as to this event for years to come.
Dealer failed to do warranty work..

Purchased a 2014 forest river rv
Bought 2014 forest river cedar creek silverback! Have had 2 months cost $38000.00.we have had so much moisture, cabinets inside full of water on walls.water bubbles and running down wall seams, over slides inside closet.Sugar and salt gets hard, boxes of food gets wet!
Forest river and rv service people tell us all rv's do this. We had a keystone copper canyon 2008and had for 5 yrs no moisture except on windows. We are not dummies when it comes to owning a rv. Now what does moisture cause, mold, rotting and mildew.
I reacon they think we wanted to spend that kind of money for that. They got another thinking coming.
We will do whatever we have to get results. Our advice don't buy a cedar creek!!!!

Our tires had the same knit as well as one blowout. Axles were warped, all 4 tires wearing on the inside, and springs are gone.
Said our 2014 Salem was overloaded. We never had water in ranks, only a few groceries, linens, and minimum tools. Warranty won't cover it as they said it was our fault. What a joke if a company.
The drawer support in kitchen came loose. After tearing panel off to get to the inside to make repairs there was nothing supporting the drawers except one staple into the bottom of the kitchen counter tops. Added a brace, etc. to flux it.
Then the tire problem with our first trip.
First blowout after driving 275 mikes. A total piece of ***.
