We are in a similar situation (as the Baker family) with our 2014 Forest River Columbus Palomino toy hauler. The main slide has broken twice, and getting it repaired was incredibly difficult. The last time it was repaired, it took more than two dozen phone calls from me to even get it scheduled for service. The first dealer where Forest River arranged to have the slide repaired had us sit in their parking lot for 7-1/2 hours while they supposedly waited for Forest River's technolgy department to return their phone call. The second dealer where Forest River made arrangements for us cancelled our appointment and redirected us to an independent RV repair shop who wouldn't do any work without a guarantee of being paid by us (the RV is less than a year old and is "covered" by warranty). And although the slide was repaired so that it would operate, it still makes a horrible screeching sound when it's being operated, and it is starting to move ***-eyed in the opening so we are pretty sure it's going to break for a third time in the not-so-distant future. The wardrobe slide has also broken twice. The spare tire would not stay up in its mounting; it fell off in a repair shop parking lot, they "fixed it", and it fell off at a rest stop less than a week later. We have one tire that is wearing excessively fast; it has less than 6,200 miles on it, yet it is nearly bald. I've complained to Forest River several times, and it's never been addressed by them. (Didn't help that there have been multiple slide problems that seemed to take priority, and the repair shops just seem to ignore the tire tread problem.) There were six plumbing leaks that we didn't discover until after we took delivery of the vehicle. One of the propane lines developed a bubble three weeks after we took delivery. These are only the big problems. We fixed a lot of the little stuff ourselves, like door latches that were misaligned, a broken backflow valve, broken shower T-diverter, etc. We also paid big bucks for a central vacuum system that we never got.

Like the Bakers, we are also dealing with significant health issues. This was to be our last opportunity to travel to see family and friends. We are now stranded 3,000 miles from our home in New England, and we are afraid to put the RV back on the road because of the excessive wearing on the one tire. We had been planning this trip for nearly 10 years, and we bought Forest River mainly because of the Warren Buffet association. We spent our life-savings on this trailer, and we really expected more from this company.
